Under the direction of the CFO, the Grants Manager communicates,
collaborates, and works cohesively with managers and supervisors to
understand programs and services and attends department meetings to
develop potential funding opportunities. In partnership with the
external, fund development team, this role works closely with CFO
and CEO on capital campaigns and private and public fundraising
opportunities, while reporting directly to the CFO. ESSENTIAL
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES To perform the job successfully, an
individual must be able to perform each essential duty
satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of
the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Grants Manager writes and facilitates grant
proposal submission through all stages of the process and is
responsible for writing, managing, and monitoring grants Based on
the understanding of clinical, operations, and department needs,
creates or consults on (with external fund development team)
compelling narratives by adapting writing style for specific
purposes to engage various audiences Coordinate the submission of
grants, letter of requests, progress reports and final reports
working with various staff and departments
(writing/reviewing/editing narratives, budgets, legal documents,
gathering attachments) Manage the grant calendar to track and
monitor all grant activity including but not limited to due dates,
mid-year reports, final reports, etc. Ensures HarborCHC timely
submission for all grant deliverables. Ensure compliance with the
terms of all grants, following through on all the deliverables, and
submitting reports according to the funder's requirements Research
and track new grants along with any needed grant specifics and
recommend new opportunities Tracks all programs and projects
internally at HarborCHC, meeting with stakeholders, sharing data
and info and suggesting potential funding opportunities for
unfunded programs/projects Work across departments to assist in
identifying/researching funding opportunities for operations,
clinical and capital projects Maintain accurate records and track
grants/fundraising campaigns Produce reports supporting all types
of giving as needed - individual donors, events, grants, and
campaigns Provide accurate grant data to staff, board, committees,
and other internal and external stakeholders Build relationships
with grantors/funders Provides support in the management of public
grants including, federal, state, county, and city grants Other
duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS These specifications are general
guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered
essential to the satisfactory performance of this job. Individual
abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. To
perform effectively in this position, the incumbent must have:
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.A/B.S.) or higher required.
Experience in grant writing, non-profit fundraising, database
competency, and/or strong background in marketing/communications.
Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in a similar
position, experience in grant writing, non-profit fundraising,
database competency, and/or strong background in
marketing/communications Thorough knowledge and understanding of
capital campaigns, restricted and non-restricted funding Ability to
effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with strong
attention to detail and organization Self-motivated, able to
multi-task and meet deadlines, possess a cheerful can-do attitude,
maintain confidentiality, and work independently in a shared office
space. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications - Word, Excel,
Outlook, and Power Point required. Grant Tracker Plus experience or
other sophisticated fundraising/data base software is highly
desirable Skills and Attributes: Must demonstrate good attendance
and punctuality and complete all assignments timely. Must have
proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office abilities,
with intermediate Excel skills. Must have a high level of accuracy,
excellent analytical, problem solving and time management skills,
and possess strong organizational skills. Communicate effectively
with providers, other staff, and outside vendors. Work
collaboratively in a team environment, have excellent writing
skills and be able to prioritize effectively. Must maintain
confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Must have the willingness and ability to adapt to change, including

calls and emails in a timely manner. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The
physical requirements described here are representative of those
that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the
essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this
job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to
manipulate objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms;
and talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up
to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close
vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and
the ability to adjust. HOURS OF OPERATION HarborCHC is open
Monday-Thursday 7:00am-7:00pm, Friday 8:00 am-5:00pm, Saturday
8:00am-5:00pm with occasional overtime, or other shifts based on
clinic need. This position follows a Monday–Friday administrative
schedule. Occasional evening meetings or deadlines may be required
based on grant cycles. HR PROCEDURAL REQUIREMENTS Legal
