About the Role: As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Your work will directly contribute to improving patients' communication abilities and overall quality of life, enabling them to engage more fully with their families and communities. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and progress. This position requires a compassionate and patient-centered approach, ensuring that therapy sessions are both effective and supportive. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Valid state license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Experience working with post-acute care patients or similar populations. Strong knowledge of speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a post-acute or rehabilitation setting. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Additional certifications related to dysphagia or cognitive rehabilitation. Bilingual abilities or experience working with diverse patient populations. Continuing education in the latest speech therapy techniques and technologies. Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify patient needs and challenges. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals. Provide direct therapy to patients using evidence-based techniques to address speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates to the healthcare team and family members. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to coordinate care and optimize patient outcomes. Educate patients and their families on strategies to support communication and swallowing improvements outside of therapy sessions. Maintain compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies related to patient care and documentation. Skills: In this role, your clinical expertise in speech and language pathology will be essential for accurately assessing and treating a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders. Strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Your organizational skills will be critical for managing caseloads, documenting patient progress, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The ability to adapt therapy approaches based on individual patient responses will enhance treatment effectiveness and patient satisfaction. Additionally, proficiency with technology, including EMR systems, will support efficient documentation and communication within the healthcare environment.
