Job Description:
CG Life is seeking an energetic Public Relations Senior Account
Executive who is eager to continue building their career and
motivated to help our team execute elements of strategic public
relations programs. This includes a heavy emphasis on industry,
business and national media relations, content development, product
launches, event support, and other related communications for our
life sciences, biopharma, and healthcare clients. The Senior
Account Executive (SAE) is passionate about science and telling
meaningful and impactful client stories through creative media
outreach. They also understand the importance of using analytics to
measure results. They have a strong grasp of tactically executing
PR programs and a desire to develop their strategic skills within a
collaborative environment. The ideal candidate is someone with
prior agency experience who understands the biopharma and life
science industries and has the skills and insight to reach a
variety of stakeholders. They must have the ability to address
challenges and proactively help drive complex communications
programs. This position works within the PR department but also
operates as part of the larger integrated agency team to realize
successful omnichannel campaigns. Note: this role is hybrid and
open to candidate in Chicago, San Diego and NYC who able to be in
the office 2-3 days per week. Key Responsibilities, including but
not limited to: Client Relationships Fosters and nurtures client
relationships as part of multi-person account team and demonstrates
proactiveness and professionalism in direct communications Supports
client relationships with mid-level peers and prepares
communications updates (i.e., status reports, meeting notes/contact
reports, timelines, documenting client feedback) Participates in
regular client status and strategy calls, supporting
account/meeting leader Strategic and Tactical Account Contributions
Supports PR strategy plans and associated tactical elements during
initial client engagement Plays a key role in actively executing
media relations outreach programs including media list and pitch
development, fostering strong relationships with editors, following
up with reporters, scheduling interviews, creating media briefs,
monitoring media and analyzing media coverage. May lead specific
media pitches Contributes to creating messaging/narratives, press
releases, media pitches, by-lined articles, Q&As and persuasive
client communications with guidance and oversight from account lead
Organizes and maintains file storage with client-provided materials
and daily team deliverables Understands agency processes and
procedures, including integrated workflows and contributes feedback
for process improvement Coordinates meeting logistics – meeting
invitations, video call setup, associated materials, etc. Conducts
online research and traditional media monitoring Monitors media
platforms to identify key reporters and influencers and flags
strategic opportunities for client engagement to account team
Monitors regulatory developments that impact our clients (e.g.,
updates from the FDA) Identifies appropriate thought leadership
platforms and opportunities for clients including speaking
engagements and awards Coordinates with patient or caregiver
spokespersons for media outreach efforts and support for
patient/caregiver education and advocacy efforts Internal
Relationships Exhibits understanding of all roles within the agency
Strong listener and obtains clarification when needed Collaborative
mindset and ability to contribute to overall team efforts Knowledge
& Expertise Learns and follows all agency and client practices and
procedures Continually builds knowledge of media relations
strategies, best practices, and tools for maximum coverage (e.g.,
pitch creation, database building, editor research) and understands
the process to gain earned media visibilit Learns the clients
businesses, communications goals, competitive landscape and
industry trends Educates themselves on high-level issues facing
life sciences, rare disease, and precision medicine companies and
understands marketing shaping factors Requirements Qualifications
and Skills: 3 years of pharma or life sciences agency experience or
within a fast-paced in-house pharma/life sciences organization
Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in journalism, public relations,
marketing, sciences or transferrable field Prior experience working
with PR-related tools (Muck Rack, Qwoted, Business Wire, HARO,
Mixmax, ZOHO, CoverageBook, etc.) Demonstrated professionalism in
client and team interactions Strong critical thinking and
problem-solving skills Strong project/time management and
organizational skills; ability to balance and prioritize multiple
projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines Flexible and agile,
with the ability to quickly change course when the need arises
Strong writer with portfolio of samples able to communicate clearly
and effectively Familiar with AP style Experience with online
research and ability to conduct thorough searches and analyses and
provide strategic guidance based on findings Able to identify and
assess emerging trends in the media Demonstrated track record of
diverse media relations successes Proactive in sharing ideas and
asking questions and taking initiative when tackling projects
Interested in learning about new and innovative research, tools,
therapies, and technologies that may improve people’s health and

law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is
$65,000 - $80,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what
our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers
within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity,
market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s
experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and
communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant
during the selection process. At CG Life, it is not common for
individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and
compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This
position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus
program, subject to the rules governing the plan. CG Life offers a
