Job Description:
As an Assistant Resource Specialist II, you will assist in the
administration, management, planning, development, and
implementation of Metropolitan's Colorado River water supplies and
related water storage, transfer, and exchange programs as part of
the Colorado River Supply and Programs Team. This includes, but is
not limited to, assisting in: collecting, organizing, and
maintaining data; preparing reports; mathematical, statistical or
software-based modeling and analysis; demand and supply
forecasting; operational and cost analysis; contract negotiations;
evaluation of climatic studies and agricultural water use and
conservation programs; and otherwise assisting in water resource
management activities. You will assist with writing technical
memos, reports, and board letters and create presentations to
communicate and coordinate with Metropolitan's operations and water
quality staff and external agencies. This position requires written
and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management
skills, problem-solving skills, flexibility to work on a multitude
of projects, a willingness to learn new skills, and the willingness
to explore problems thoroughly from a variety of angles. The
successful candidate will have the ability to communicate
effectively and build relationships with members of the project
team, other departments, and external agencies and be able to work
both independently and as a part of a project team. Schedule:
44/36, Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday
through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other
Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no
later than 6 pm. Hybrid: Metropolitan's current practice in this
position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two
days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to
change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework
policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and
implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule.

Assistant Resource Specialist II EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree from an
accredited college or university in a related field and two years
of relevant experience; or two years in a MWD Assistant Resource
Specialist Iclassification. A Bachelor's degree in a related field
is defined as: a degree in engineering AND/OR environmental/earth
sciences AND/OR water resources, AND/OR geology AND/OR hydrology
AND/OR economics AND/OR similar degree. Relevant experience is
defined as: a combination of experience in water resources, data
management and analysis, or statistical/mathematical or
software-based modeling (e.g. RiverWare or MODSIM). CERTIFICATIONS,
LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS License(s):Valid California
Class C Driver's License or equivalent (required at time of
application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
